A Look Into The Future From The Vantage Of 1954
Dateline 1954 - a look fifty years into the future
Scientists from the Rand Corporation have created this model to illustrate how a 'home computer' could look like in the year 2004. However, the needed technology will not be economically feasible for the average home. Also, the scientists readily admit that the computer will require not yet invented technology to actually work, but fifty years from now scientific progress is expected to solve these problems. With the teletype interface and the Fortran language, the computer will be easy to use.
Random Humor: Strike That Inheritance
A man was very ill and his son went to visit him in the hospital. Suddenly, the father began to breathe heavily and grabbed the pen and pad by the bed. With his last ounce of strength he wrote a note, dropped it, and died.
The son was so overcome with grief that he didn't remember slipping the note into his pocket. At the funeral, he reached into the pocket of his coat and immediately felt the note. He excitedly read it thinking it might be something he could recite during the service. It said:
YOU IDIOT -- GET OFF MY OXYGEN TUBE!!!
